Kahne wins another for HMS

This woman was seen exiting Tony Stewart's motorhome shortly before driver introductions on Saturday evening. Apparently he was holding another round of girlfriend tryouts.

The 48 sucks!!!

The win by the 48 gave Hendrick Motor Sports its 200th cup victory. In the post race interview Johnson said his car handled well all night and he could put it in the tightest spots. I wonder if this is what he meant. He would probably be afraid to try it though. Rumor has it around the garage that his nickname should be little johnson. Here are the standings for the week, segment and year:

This weekend is that stupid, total waste of time, all star race so we have a weekend off. If you are interested, the all star race is Saturday night. The next race for us will be the following weekend at Charlotte Motor Speedway. So you won't have to put up with me bugging you about getting me your picks.

That Explains It

I should have included this photo with the first post today but I just discovered it. Now I know why Brent didn't have a good weekend. He didnt have time to study his picks cause he was spotted in the infield at Talladega. Obviously he was so excited about going that he forgot to pack a change of clothes. I just hope he didn't have a blowout!!!
Since 1987 NASCAR has tried to slow the speeds down at Talladega. They have tried a restrictor plate and now they have made the grill openings on the cars so small that you can't draft for very long without overheating. Now NASCAR has came up with another innovation. These new speed bumps were spotted in the infield and will be installed for the fall race. This will have two possible outcomes, it may make the cars go slower, however it may have the unintended consequence of making the drivers come faster. (Except for maybe Michael Waltrip. I am not so sure he likes these kind of speed bumps)
Here are the standings for the week and first race of the 2nd segment as well as the overall standings:

Week-Norb 212 (no that is not a misprint) Jim 187, Freddy 184, Joe 172, Terry 170, Dennis 159, PT 152, Al 150, Bauman 150, Matt 142, Brian 141, Michael 140, Jeff 140, Neil 133, Toby 123, Brent 121, Chuck 113

Overall-PT 1785, Dennis 1757, Freddy 1741, Terry 1716, Toby 1675, Al 1673, Matt 1639, Brent 1632, Jim 1628, Michael 1627, Bauman 1608, Joe 1596, Chuck 1570, Jeff 1566(good thing his total wasn't 1666, cause a pastor should not have any part of his score be 666), Norb 1546, Brian 1492, Neil 1420

This week's race is Saturday night at Darlington. Qualifying is Friday afternoon so I will need your picks by 2 P.M. on Friday afternoon.
