It also didn't help that his former team, Red Bull Racing, shut down operations. Another reason that his victory was considered such an upset was the fact that he hadn't won a race since the 2009 Michigan race, and that his two career victories have came at the high banked and high speed tracks of Michigan and Talladega.
I, along with league members Toby, Chuck, Neil, and former league member Matt, had the fortune to witness Vickers' first career Sprint Cup victory at Talladega. That was the race where in turn 3 on the last lap with Dale Jr.first, Jimmie Johnson second, and Vickers third, that Vickers got into the 48 and the 48 got into Jr. and they both wrecked as Vickers cruised to the win.
That is the race when I came to the realization that many of Dale Jr's. fans are uneducated, toothless, brainless, dickless rednecks.
Many of his fans showed their displeasure by hurling piss-filled water bottles and half drunken cans of 25 year old Billy Beer onto the track. I know if anyone had been wearing any Brian Vickers apparel that day, those redneck dipshits would have kidnapped and tortured him while banjo music was being played in the background. I can almost picture it. Some beer bellied, unshaven redneck with a dirty camo ball cap, a number 8 Budweier tattoo, cut-off bibs with no shirt underneath with a pair of shit kicker boots on, telling his captive that he "sure has a pretty mouth" and to "squeal like a pig."
On Wednesday, the Camping World Truck series will be heading to Tony Stewart's dirt track in Eldora for the truck race. It should be exciting to watch the trucks on dirt. This is a regular points race, not an exhibition. Many Cup drivers are entered for the race. Stewart has really been pushing for a points paying race at a dirt track. His ultimate dream is to have a points paying Sprint Cup race on dirt. How cool would that be? According to Tony Stewart, there are two venues in the United States that have tracks big enough for Sprint Cup cars. Those tracks are his at Eldora and the dirt track at DuQuoin. More seating would have to be put in but can you imagine how fast the tickets would sell out?
Okay enough of that. The next race is at Indy on Sunday, July 28 at 12:15 P.M. I will need you picks by 1 P.M. next Saturday. Here are the results from last week's race at Loudon, which was the first race of Segment 3.

As many of you have heard, Ryan Newman will not be racing for Tony Stewart next year. Stewart-Haas Racing will be welcoming Kevin Harvick into the fold next season. Newman though it best to put his feelings in song.
